Nippon Steel & Sumikin Shapes planned to raise H-beam prices by ￥2,000/ton for December.
It's learned that the company had ever hiked H-beam prices by ￥3,000/ton for September.
However, Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp (NSSMC) has decided not to increase H-beam prices further for December.
It's learned that the H-beam prices have surged to ￥79,000~￥80,000/ton in the Japanese Tokyo and Osaka markets recently, rising by ￥3,000/ton from end of September, driven by strong demand.
Meanwhile, Japan's H-beam shipments totaled 361,000 tons in September, jumping by 24% year on year and rising by 10% from a month ago, according to data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Association (JISF).
